Saturday, May 6, 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.Waltham Public Library, 735 Main Street, The Rat Poison Problem: How Rodenticides Harm People, Pets, and the Planet A Presentation by Save Arlington Wildlife founder, naturalist and environmental reporter Laura Kiesel. Please note this is a masked event. This is also a hybrid event, people can attend online by registering here.
Wednesday, May 10, 12 noon – 1pm. Rally for MK/For Local Controlof Rodenticides at Beacon Hill, Location: Massachusetts State House, 24 Beacon St, Boston. The day of the Committee hearing of the pesticide bills, we will be gathering in front of the MA State House to rally for MK and our lost wildlife and pets. Bring signs! At 1pm, some of us will stay outside, while others will go to the hearing room to testify, and yet others will visit their lawmakers to drop off postcards and letters in support of the local control bill & Arlington’s Home Rule petition. Sunday, May 21, 12 noon – 5pm. New England VegFest, Worcester State University, Worcester, MA. Save Arlington Wildlife (SAW), in partnership with Raptors are the Solution (RATS), will be tabling at the festival, which is FREE. At 2pm, SAW founder Laura Kiesel will be presenting on the impacts of rodenticides on wildlife, companion animals and public health and exploring cruelty-free and non-lethal alternatives for managing rodents. Saturday, June 10, 2pm – 5pm. Arlington Heights Spring Fling Festival, Business District of Arlington Heights, Massachusetts Avenue, Arlington. Save Arlington Wildlife will be tabling at the festival, and offering giveaways of handouts, brochures and other educational materials.
